Teopister is the third out of six children who live with their parents. Teopister's parents have a particular challenge in caring for their family because two of the children are physically disabled. They are peasant farmers who grow food for themselves, and in addition they dig in other people's gardens sometimes to make some more money for other basic needs, but it isn't enough.
Teopister is thirteen years old and her dream is to become a doctor so that she can treat her disabled brothers. Since her parents can't keep up with her school fees, she will need a sponsorship if she is going to be able to stay with her class and complete her education.
