Uganda is a beautiful country, but many children struggle. 48% of the population is under 15, and many families cannot afford school fees, food, or medicine. OKWAGALA For Children is trying to help, but we are small and we need your support.
We work in Central Uganda (Kampala, Lugazi, Masaka, Kasana‑Luweero) and Northern Uganda (Gulu). Our partners are local Catholic schools, parishes, and religious sisters who know the children best.
Your support directly provides a safe place and Catholic education to children in need. We help with baby school, day and boarding primary/secondary, vocational training, and university. Your gift – any amount – is used to pay school fees, buy meals, uniforms, supplies, and other necessities.
We work with the Catholic Church in Kampala Archdiocese, Lugazi, Masaka, and Kasana‑Luweero Dioceses. Here we help with day and boarding schools, vocational training, and university scholarships.
In partnership with the Jesuits, we serve the Gulu Archdiocese. Many children here need trauma counseling and financial aid. Your support helps provide boarding primary and secondary education.
Every gift makes a lasting impact. You can sponsor a child, a seminarian, or a nun; you can give to our general fund; or you can start a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe. We accept one‑time or recurring gifts of any amount. Your donation is deposited into OKWAGALA’s Uganda bank account, then we disburse it to the school, seminary, or congregation. You receive a simple statement showing how your gift was used – full honesty.
Your gift – any amount, given once or regularly – provides education, meals, and spiritual care for a child in Uganda. You will receive letters and photos.

Your unrestricted gift allows us to respond to urgent needs – food, medical care, or school supplies. We will tell you how your gift was used.
We are a small, young Catholic foundation in Uganda. Our mission is to help children stay in school, provide meals, and support seminarians, nuns, and the elderly. We are not yet registered, but we are honest. Every gift of any amount goes directly to those in need.

Not at this time. We are a young foundation still working on registration. We are honest about this – your gift will still go directly to a child in need, but you cannot claim a tax deduction. We will update everyone once we are registered.
