OKWAGALA For Children began to bring hope to orphaned and disadvantaged children in Uganda. We partner with local Catholic parishes and schools to provide education, meals, and basic care. We are a small foundation, just getting started.
By working with communities where the poorest families live, we can understand their real needs and offer help that respects their culture. We do not have big offices or many staff – we are ordinary people who want to help.

Catholic Religious Congregations
We work with Catholic religious sisters and priests who already run schools in Uganda. Instead of building new schools, we help fund existing ones. This keeps our costs low and ensures that children receive a Catholic education from people who know them best.
The sisters and priests were born and raised in Uganda. They speak the local languages and understand the struggles of the children. They are the best people to share God’s love.

OKWAGALA For Clergy
As we began helping children, we also saw that many religious sisters and seminarians in Uganda need support. Some sisters cannot afford further training. Some young men cannot pay for seminary.
We started the Adopt‑A‑Nun and Sponsor‑a‑Seminarian programs. These are small – we only help a few – but every gift makes a difference.
Adopt a Grandparent
Adopt a Grandparent
We believe in building personal relationships between sponsors and the people they help. That is why we have a sponsorship model – not just a general fund.
Most recently, we added an Adopt‑a‑Grandparent program to help elderly people in Uganda who are alone and struggling. We see them as God’s children too. We are just starting, but we hope to grow with your help.
