We have also seen a great need among the elderly – grandparents who are alone, sick, and forgotten. OKWAGALA now offers the Adopt‑a‑Grandparent program to provide basic provisions: food, clothing, simple medical care, and companionship.
Your gift of any amount helps a grandparent survive with dignity. This is not about education – it is about showing God’s love to the elderly in Uganda.
How it works
You give any amount. OKWAGALA receives the funds and distributes them to local partners, who purchase and deliver basic provisions to the grandparent. You receive letters, photos, and updates – building a sacred relationship across generations.
You may visit your adopted grandparent (with advance notice), exchange letters, and become a source of joy for an elderly person in Uganda.

We are a small, young Catholic foundation in Uganda. Our mission is to help children, seminarians, nuns, and the elderly who lack school fees, food, or basic care. We are not yet registered, but we are honest. Every gift of any amount is used directly for the child.
You can choose any amount – there is no fixed fee. We will send you a photo and a letter from the child. You can give once or regularly. If you give less than the full need, we combine your gift with others.
We are not yet registered as a non‑profit. At this time, donations are not tax‑deductible. We are working on registration and will update you. We are honest about this – your gift will still go to a child in need.
Yes. We have a few seminarians and nuns who need help with tuition and living expenses. You can give any amount – we combine gifts to meet their needs. Contact us for details.
